Amazing as it seems, a new study links lower incarceration rates for adults with the fact that they have University degrees. The study states that the incarceration rate is lower for even those adults who do not complete a post secondary education. So even some college can deliver the benefits. University degree online come in almost every degree imaginable. Even if a student does not feel comfortable attending a conventional college, they can fit in at home going to an online school.
In 2001, the cost to tax payers per inmate in prison was $22,650 a year. That rate is more than double what it was between 1986 and 2001. It is therefore, beneficial to all tax payers to encourage people to get some college. Embedded in almost every college institution is a civic education. The goal is to educate the student about becoming effective and engaged citizens in our democratic society.
